Why Faculty of Communication?
Near East University Faculty of Communication: The Center of Production, Practice, and Vision
Communication is the most fundamental skill humanity has possessed since its existence. It has
played a decisive role in the birth of civilizations, technological advancements, and societal
development processes; and today, it remains the most powerful skill that highlights individuals,
unites communities, and fosters leadership.
Near East University Faculty of Communication operates with this awareness—an educational
institution that carries the power of communication from theory to practice and prepares its
students as equipped, creative, and responsible individuals for the future.
The faculty’s educational approach is not limited to knowledge transfer. Through modern
classrooms, technically advanced practice areas, and creative learning environments, it offers
students the opportunity to “produce while learning.” YDÜ/Near East FM Radio, Near East TV,
Media Agency, PRestij Agency, and Perspektif Digital Newspaper are the main platforms where
students can apply their theoretical knowledge in the field. Additionally, design and application
laboratories and a mini cinema hall within the faculty provide students with hands-on experience
across all communication disciplines.
Another strong aspect of the faculty is its academic staff. Composed of young, dynamic, and
experienced academics, the staff prepares students for the future not only with theoretical
knowledge but also with sectoral expertise and experience. Many faculty members have actively
worked in the media sector, making the education more practical and functional.
Near East University Faculty of Communication has a strong culture of collaboration. It establishes
sustainable relationships with media organizations, universities, academics, and industry
representatives at both local and international levels, offering students a broad professional
network. The faculty also maintains strong ties with its alumni, follows their professional
development, and adopts a vision of continuous collaboration with its graduates.
One of the faculty’s most striking awareness projects is the Inclusive Cinema and Activity Center.
Aiming to reach all segments of society, this center was established to ensure access to
entertainment and education for disadvantaged individuals within the framework of fundamental
human rights. Faculty academics and students advocate for accessible communication tools and
act with the awareness of building healthy societal connections through the projects they carry out
in this field.
With all these qualities, Near East University Faculty of Communication is not only an academic
institution but also a strong communication ecosystem that prepares students for life and the
industry, creates awareness, and raises productive and socially conscious individuals.
